Non-Championship Segment Day Count

Why are the dates for the non-championship segment not being counted towards the 132-day limit for DI baseball, softball and volleyball?

Unlike other sports, the only athletic activities that count against Baseball's, Softball's, and Volleyball's playing season day limit during the non-championship segment is practice and competition. Therefore, ARMS will only calculate the number of days used during the non-championship segment once the teams (baseball, softball, and volleyball) add practices and competitions to the segment.
